Change in Consolidated Subsidiary’s Trade Name

SOFTBANK CORP. (“SOFTBANK”) announces that its wholly-owned subsidiary JAPAN TELECOM CO., LTD. (Head office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; President & CEO: Hideki Kurashige; ‘JAPAN TELECOM”) will change its trade name on October 1, 2006 as follows:

1. Current name and others

(1) Trade name	JAPAN TELECOM CO., LTD.
(2) Head office	1-9-1, Higashi-shimbashi, Minato-ku, Tokyo
(3) Representative	Hideki Kurashige, President & CEO

2. New trade name

SOFTBANK TELECOM Corp.

3. Reason for the change

JAPAN TELECOM has been pursuing a close relationship with customers as well as credibility and security over 20 years as a fixed-line telecommunications operator. Upon changing its trade name, JAPAN TELECOM intends to further reinforce its strengths through more deepening its cooperation with SOFTBANK Group companies.

4. Effective date

October 1, 2006
