Business Model of the SOFTBANK Group

The scope extends from “communications infrastructure” such as mobile phone and broadband services, “portal and search” services represented by Yahoo! JAPAN to an abundant variety of “content and services.”

Shares of Net Subscriber Additions at Three Major Operators*1

SOFTBANK MOBILE had the largest share of net subscriber additions—new subscriptions minus cancellations—for two consecutive years in fiscal 2008, with 43.0%. This has resulted in steady growth in its share of cumulative subscriptions in place, from 16.4% as of the end of fiscal 2006 to 18.1% at the end of fiscal 2007, and to 19.2% at the end of fiscal 2008.
