This initiative will be continued as part of unique efforts by the Group to facilitate improved communication between parents and their children.
SOFTBANK CORP. and some companies of the SOFTBANK Group introduce flexible work hours system to support employees at various stages of pregnancy, childbirth and childrearing. These systems include reduced working hours for pregnant employees and employees with children, sick/injured child-care leave, “Kids leave” granted until the child graduates from elementary school and leave for spouse's childbirth. These are the SOFTBANK Group's distinctive way of supporting a balance between childrearing and work. The three telecommunications companies of the SOFTBANK Group have initiatives to make male employees not to mention female employees feel comfortable balancing work and childrearing. These companies are actively working to encourage more employees to use such work systems by opening childrearing support portal reflective of male employees' standpoint, organizing lectures and workshop for employees with preschool-age children, and holding cooking class for male employees. Childrearing support handbook for managers was distributed to promote understanding of managers on childrearing in April 2010 and e-learning on the matter was launched in November 2010.
